The Power of Community: Stronger Together Part 3

Introduction:

Good morning, Church! Over the past few weeks, we’ve been walking through our series The Power of Community.Today, we’re going to dive deeper into why community is not just important, but essential in our walk with God.

Psalm 133:1 reminds us that it is both good and pleasant when God’s people live together in unity. That means none of us were ever meant to walk this journey alone.

Community is more than hanging out—it’s a source of accountability, a builder of faith, and a support system for every season of life. When we lean into community, it not only transforms us, it strengthens the church and impacts the world around us.

Community is defined as:
A deep spiritual connection and fellowship shared among believers united in their faith in Jesus Christ.

Text:

Psalm 133:1 (NKJV)
“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
For brethren to dwell together in unity!”

Topic:

The Power of Community
Series: Stronger Together!

Point 1: Community Builds Accountability!

David reminds us that unity requires community. And community requires accountability.

  • Accountability protects the integrity of community and helps us value what we’re part of.

  • Without accountability, we drift into unhealthy patterns, sin, and temptation.

  • True community isn’t shallow—it’s being real with one another, building trust, and choosing honesty.

Community is not exclusive, it’s inclusive. It takes all of us to build it, and all of us to participate in it.

Outbreak, we are not ordinary—we are a contagious movement that sparks change in our peers, our families, our neighborhoods, and our world. We are the spark that lights the fire. We are the voice that declares change. And accountability keeps that fire burning. 🔥

Point 2: Community Builds Faith!

Life is hard. Sometimes challenges shake every bit of belief we have. But here’s the beauty of community: when my faith is low, yours can lift me up.

  • Faith is built through shared testimonies.
Hearing how God brought someone else through gives us courage to believe He’ll do it again.

  • Faith grows through encouragement.
There will be seasons when we need someone to remind us: You can make it. You can overcome. You’re not alone.

Community ensures there’s always someone who has already walked through what you’re facing right now. And their story can be the push you need to keep going.

Point 3: Community Provides Support!

Community is where we find strength for the journey.

  • Community provides a safe place to be vulnerable.
It connects us with people who will listen, pray, and walk with us through life’s highs and lows.

  • Community provides an anchor when life gets heavy.
It roots us in the place God designed for us to be.

  • Support must be Christ-centered.
Because real strength and real hope only come through Him.

Community is the reminder that when you feel like you can’t go any further—you don’t have to. Someone will walk with you.

Conclusion / Demonstration:

Tug of War Demonstration

  • Alone, the struggle is overwhelming.

  • But together, with everyone pulling on the same rope, victory is possible.

That’s the power of community. That’s the power of unity.

Psalm 133:1 reminds us—it’s good and pleasant when we dwell together in unity. And it’s in that place of unity where God commands His blessing.
