Visionary Leader: Dr. Kirbyjon Caldwell
Scripture: Romans 8:28
Series: Life Be Life’n
Life be life’n — but even in the middle of it all, God is still working.
This week, Visionary Leader Dr. Caldwell continued the Life Be Life’n series with a reminder that every ingredient of life—good, bad, or bitter—has purpose when it’s in God’s hands.
All Things Work Together
Dr. Caldwell began with Romans 8:28:
“We know that all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose.”
He reminded us:
-
Don’t give up on God—and don’t give up on yourself—because He’s still working.
-
Even when you’ve reached your limit, somehow you’re still standing—that’s God working.
-
“We” are those who love the Lord, follow His way, and are saved by grace through faith.
We know God works all things together because we’ve read it in His Word, seen it in our lives, and the Holy Spirit keeps confirming it.
The Baking Lesson
Wearing a baker’s hat and apron, Dr. Caldwell reminded us that every ingredient by itself doesn’t taste good—
raw eggs, flour, butter, sugar, vanilla, baking powder—none are enjoyable alone.
“But when the Baker mixes them together, they create something good.”
Likewise, the moments that don’t “taste good” in life—loss, betrayal, struggle, or pain—are still part of God’s recipe for your good.
“When God—the Master Baker—whisks it all together, He makes something beautiful out of it.”
The Wheel of Favor: A–E–I–O–U
Dr. Caldwell illustrated how all things work together through what he called The Wheel of Favor, using spiritual vowels:
A — Able
Paid for by the blood of Jesus.
Daniel 3:17 — “Our God is able to deliver us.”
Ephesians 3:20 — “God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all we ask or think.”
“There are no limits on God’s ability.”
E — Everlasting
Psalm 90:2 — “Before the mountains were born, from everlasting to everlasting You are God.”
“Before the beginning, He was—and after the end, He still is.”
Sometimes it’s not just for your good—it’s for good.
I — Invincible
Psalm 24:8 — “Who is this King of Glory? The Lord strong and mighty.”
“God cannot be defeated. David never lost a battle.”
O — Omnipotent
Job 42:2 — “I know that You can do all things.”
“God’s power cannot be stopped or overruled.”
U — Understanding
Psalm 147:5 — “Great is our Lord and mighty in power; His understanding has no limit.”
“He understands what you’re going through and adds compassion to it all.”
Through the Fire
Even when you think everything is stable, something can still knock things over—like spilled batter. But that doesn’t mean the process is ruined.
Dr. Caldwell closed with a powerful visual: he revealed a fully baked cake.
“You can’t get the cake without going through the fire.”
Every trial and tear is part of the process. God is baking your breakthrough.
