I’m Not Stopping Till I See It – Sermon Recap

On Sunday, January 29th, Pastor Tiffany Tarrant from St. John’s UMC delivered a powerful word at our church.

šŸ“ŗ Rewatch the sermon here.

šŸ“– Read the recap below:

The scriptural foundation for the sermon was 1 Samuel 1:4 – 20. If you haven’t read it recently, I encourage you to pause and allow the Holy Spirit to minister to your heart through it.

Before diving into her main points, Pastor Tarrant made a statement that resonated with many of us: ā€œWe are tired.ā€

If it’s not one thing, it’s another. The to-do list never ends. Parenting brings new challenges every day. Work is demanding. The state of our nation and economy is unstable. Breaking news floods our screens every hour. All of this wears us down.

Pastor Tarrant reminded us, ā€œThe enemy uses early exhaustion to make us lose focus.ā€

Are you allowing the enemy to wear you out with the cares of this world?

Jesus invites us to cast all our anxiety on Him because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7).

Yes, the pain is real—but so is the promise.Ā

1 Samuel 1:4-8

According to some studies, there are over 7,000 promises from God to His people in the Bible. There’s a promise for every situation you’re facing.

Find one. Stand on it. Memorize it. Declare it until you see it come to pass.

Promises of God

Bold Prayers Open Supernatural Doors
1 Samuel 1:9–11

Hannah prayed a bold, faith-filled prayer.Ā

I once heard someone say, ā€œWhen we pray, it’s like stepping into the throne room of heaven and speaking directly to our Father.ā€

In that sacred moment, it’s not the time to shrink back. Be bold. Ask. Believe. When we pray, we invite heaven to touch earthā€”ā€œThy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.ā€

Don’t Get Distracted by the Noise

1 Samuel 1:12-16

The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy—and one of his most effective tools is distraction.

He wants us to forget God’s promises and shift our focus. Remember when Peter walked on water? He only began to sink when he got distracted.

So, how do we stay focused? Keep your eyes on God. Stay grounded in His Word. Stay rooted in worship.

Worship While You Wait

1 Samuel 1:17-18

Worship isn’t wishy-washy. We don’t worship God for what He does—we worship Him for who He is.

Worship starts in our hearts, where we declare that He alone is Lord over every part of us.

We worship when things go our way and when they don’t, because we know:

ā€œAll things work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose.ā€ – Romans 8:28

God Said What He Said—Period

1 Samuel 1:19-20

We can always count on God to keep His word.

ā€œGod is not a man, so He does not lie.ā€ – Numbers 23:19

Just because we haven’t seen it yet doesn’t mean it’s not coming. Sometimes, God makes us wait because what He’s preparing is greater than what we asked for.

Did Hannah realize that her son, Samuel, would become a major prophet? That he would anoint both King Saul and King David? She wasn’t just praying for a child—she was birthing a legacy.

What are you birthing?

Pastor Tarrant also shared this promise:

ā€œThe Lord will send rain at the proper time from His rich treasury in the heavens and will bless all the work you do. You will lend to many nations, but you will never need to borrow from them.ā€

— Deuteronomy 28:12 (NLT)

And as we walked out of church that day, it was raining.

God is sending rain at the proper time. So don’t stop praying, don’t stop believing, and don’t stop pressing—until you see it.

Just like Hannah.
