Scripture Focus: Philippians 2:1–3 | Matthew 4:1–11

As we step into the Year of Overflow, it is important to understand that overflow does not happen randomly. It flows through obedience, unity, and alignment with God. One of the primary ways God calls His people into that alignment is through fasting and prayer.

Jesus Fasted—and So Do We

Before Jesus began His public ministry, He fasted. In the wilderness, fasting prepared Him spiritually, sharpened His focus, and positioned Him to walk in power and purpose. If Jesus—the Son of God—fasted to align with the Father’s will, how much more do we need fasting as believers?

Fasting is not about deprivation; it is about devotion. It is a deliberate act of obedience that says, “God, You are my source—not food, not comfort, not routine.”

Unity Unlocks Movement

As a church family, we fast together because God moves powerfully when His people are of one mind and one accord.

Philippians 2:1–3 reminds us that unity matters deeply to God—having the same love, being one in spirit, and walking in humility. When we fast in unity, we are not only surrendering individually; we are aligning corporately. And Scripture shows us that corporate obedience brings corporate breakthrough.

Unity creates an environment where overflow can flow freely.

What Happens When We Fast and Pray

Through fasting and prayer, we:

  • Draw closer to God and heighten our spiritual sensitivity

  • Deepen our prayer life, moving beyond routine prayers into intentional intercession

  • Gain clarity and direction when decisions feel unclear

  • Break spiritual strongholds and bondage

  • Align our hearts with God’s will, not our own desires

Fasting quiets distractions so we can hear God more clearly. It creates room for Him to speak, lead, correct, and empower.

Obedience Precedes Overflow

Overflow is not just about receiving more—it’s about being positioned to carry more. Obedience prepares the vessel. When we choose to fast and pray, even when it’s uncomfortable, we are declaring our trust in God.

Obedience says:

“God, I trust You enough to lay this down so You can fill me up.”

And God always responds to surrendered hearts.

An Invitation to Align

We are inviting you to join us in a sacred time of unity, obedience, and expectation.

Join us January 12–17 for 6 days of prayer and fasting.

This is not just a fast—it is a faith step. A moment to reset, refocus, and realign with God as we prepare to walk fully into the overflow He has promised.

Come expecting.
Come united.
Come obedient.

Overflow begins when we connect to the Source.
