“BLESSINGS OF JACOB (B.O.J.)”
INTRODUCTION
If you have a $ 100k check in your mailbox but you don’t check your mailbox, you will not know you have a $100k check. In other words, you own an asset, but you never use it because you are living in ignorance. You lack knowledge! Currently, you definitely own some incalculably valuable Kingdom assets! But… you cannot use them if you don’t know you have them!
In Genesis 49:22-26, Jacob declares a poetic prophecy over Joseph and his sons, Ephraim and Manasseh. The blessings promised to Joseph flow in the Abrahamic lineage. Galatians 3:14 and 29 assure us that those blessings are available to all followers of the Way! As a believer, that includes you! The blessings in Genesis 49:22-26 have your name on them! Believe them; receive them; and walk in them!
WHAT IS A BLESSING?
A blessing, or berakhah, is not just wishing someone well. It is an active transfer or release of Divine favor, life, peace, and prosperity from the Lord through a person.
YOU ARE BLESSED WITH CUSTOMIZED BLESSINGS 49:28
- The Lord has blessings customized just for you.
- The Lord bless you. Satan curses you. You can do either or both.
YOU ARE BLESSED TO BE FRUITFUL! 22
- Joseph is likened to a healthy vine that is planted by a water spring.
- This metaphor symbolizes the strength and power that Joseph manifested in spite of all his personal tragedies.
- The water spring means Joseph depended on his internal Source, The Lord, not his environment.
- “Over the wall” means folks’ intended restrictions will not be able to contain or restrict you!
YOU ARE BLESSED TO BE FORMIDABLE! v. 23, 24
- The archers represent the enemies faced by Joseph.
- Joseph faced and overcame intense hostility, hardship, and betrayal. They shot at him and hated him, but he overcame!
- Miraculously, Joseph did not break or retaliate! His spine remained straight and strong!
- By The Lord’s grace, you are stronger than the collective power of your enemies!
- The Lord will give you supernatural inner strength to survive the infliction of deep pain and unfair treatment.
YOU ARE BLESSED TO BE FAVORED! vv. 25, 26
- These verses symbolize the unstoppable, comprehensive blessings of The Lord!
- These verses also symbolize the intended multiplications of The Lord’s blessings in and on your life.
- Expect The Lord’s blessings from above, from around, and from beneath. “Beneath” refers to underground springs, wells, lakes, and rivers breaking through the soil.
- This passage clearly paints a picture of multi-dimensional blessing!
