Prayer Topic #6:

A 2026 Vacation Bible School Prayer for our Families

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 24, Mark 16:15-20

Reflections of the Heart:

This year, our Vacation Bible School theme is “Overflow in Miracles, Signs, and Wonders.”During this VBS season, we are believing God for His manifested presence and overflow for everyone—children to mature adults. We believe the entire Windsor Village Church Family will operate in and experience miracles, signs, and wonders. Let’s put our faith hats on!

Scriptural Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for creating us in Your likeness and image. Thank You for loving us unconditionally. We praise You as the Triune God: God the Father, our Creator; God the Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord; and God the Holy Spirit, our Teacher and Leader. Thank You for pouring out Your Spirit on all flesh! We bless and praise Your name, for You are El Shaddai – God Almighty.

Creator Father, from the beginning You created the Heaven and Earth. The earth and everyone in it belong to You. You created Adam and Eve as the original family and You blessed them with children: Cain, Abel and Seth. You gave the original family clear instructions to follow, instructions You have also given to us.  We declare that our families will model and train their children in the way that they should go and when they are old, they will not depart from You.  We confess that our children will be taught of the Lord that they may experience great peace as they obey Your commands and follow Your ways.  We thank You for the love of God that is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit.  We declare that our families will love God, love others, and love ourselves. Our families live in Your marvelous light and we do not participate in the darkness of this world. We decree what You have already spoken: You will pour out Your Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams, and your young men will see visions.

Holy Spirit, what miracles, signs and wonders should I have faith for during this season? Write this down.

Now pray: Holy Spirit, will You move through me as Your vessel to operate in miracles, signs, and wonders this month? … As He partners with you this month, document these experiences below and in your journal. Save these testimonies for later remembrance.

Holy Father, bless the children, youth, young adults, and the mature adults of our church family. Give the VBS instructors and leaders wisdom as they teach each generation Your Word. As they open their mouths, we ask You to fill them. Holy Spirit, help our Church Family be good ground to receive the seed of Your Word and cause it to produce a harvest for their lives and Your Kingdom. Teach us and bless us to love God, to love others, and to love ourselves. Holy Spirit, help us to do what is right in God’s sight. Keep us healthy in our spirit, soul, and body.

Merciful Father, please forgive our families for any acts of sinfulness that they have committed. Forgive our families for not walking by faith and choosing to walk by sight. For us for not loving You by obeying Your commands and following Your ways. Forgive our families for not loving others by helping people who are in need.  Forgive family members for not loving themselves by refusing to maintain healthy lifestyles. Forgive families for not doing what is right in Your sight.  As for me, Holy Spirit, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).  Holy Spirit, remind our families of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. Help us to forgive family members and friends who have spoken hurtful words and committed hurtful actions against us. Bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive.  As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).”   Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, please help our families not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.

Triumphant King, You are our Lord, our Redeemer and Creator.  You are the Lord who made all things. You alone stretched out the heavens. You made the earth and everything in it by Yourself. There is no one greater than You! You reign forever! In Jesus’ name, amen.
