Prayer Topic #9

A Prayer for Our Students, Parents and Educators

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 145:1-13, Romans 14:17-19

Reflections of the Heart:

As you count the Omer this evening, say this, “This is the 31st day of the Omer. We praise You, O Lord our God, King of the Universe, who has sanctified us by Jesus Christ, our eternal Redeemer and Savior, and commanded us to count the Omer.  By faith, we wait with joyful hearts to celebrate the sending of Your Holy Spirit.”

Scriptural Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we thank You, for our students, parents and educators. Thank You for blessing them to have a successful school year, although it was interrupted by Covid 19.  Thank You for each of their lives.  Lord, we are grateful and we bless Your wonderful Name.  Your majestic Name fills the earth!  The heavens proclaim Your glory and the skies display Your craftsmanship.  Day after day they continually speak; night after night they make Your presence known.  Father, Your instructions are perfect, reviving our souls. Your decrees are trustworthy, making the simple wise.  Your commandments are right, bringing joy to the heart.  Your commands are clear, giving insight for living.  Revering You is pure, lasting forever.  Your laws are true; each one is fair.  They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold.   They are sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the honeycomb.

Triumphant Father, we declare Your Word over our students, parents and educators as they approach the end of another school year.  As the people of God, we declare that as they hunger and thirst after righteousness, they will be filled.  We decree that favor will continue to surround them like a shield and that they will have good relationships with others.  Father, we know that it is Your will that they prosper and be in health as their souls prosper.  We confess that their families will live in peaceful habitations, in safe dwellings, and in quiet resting places.  Stability, salvation, love, wisdom and knowledge abide in their homes.  Father, we confess that no weapon formed against them will prosper.

List a name of a student, parent or educator and pray for him/her today.  Ask the Holy Spirit to show you how you can be of help him/her:

Omnipotent Father, we ask You place a hedge of protection around our students, parents and educators and all our families.  Holy Spirit, touch their hearts to fear You and hate evil, pride and arrogance.  Holy Spirit, lead and guide them.  Let the mind of Christ be established in them.  Please give our parents, as well as our educators wisdom, strength, and guidance as they organize plans and exams for the closing semester.  Holy Spirit, please refresh and renew their hearts and minds.

Wonderful Father, forgive our students, parents and educators for all acts of sinfulness (specifically confess the sins aloud).  Forgive those parents and educators who have not treated their students fairly.  Forgive those who have not been patient with their children during this time of transition in learning.  Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that You have committed).  Holy Spirit, remind our students, parents and educators of those they need to forgive and help them to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that You may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in Your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help our students, parents and educators not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.

Sovereign Lord, Your Kingdom is an everlasting kingdom.  Your dominion endures throughout all generations.  Lord, You reign and You are clothed with majesty; You have girded Yourself with strength.  The world stands firm and cannot be shaken.  Your throne has stood from time immemorial.  You are from the everlasting past.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
