Pastor Suzette Turner

Isaiah 43:18-19 MSG

Part 2 of Make Way for the New was both a continuation and a charge. Pastor Suzette didn’t just remind us that God is doing something new — she urged us to be alert enough to see it.

“Neighbor, make way for the new.”

God is doing something new.
It’s bursting out.

The foundation scripture remains Book of Isaiah 43:18–19 (MSG):
“Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new.”

When God says “new,” it doesn’t mean He has changed. God does not change — but He reveals new dimensions of who He is. He brings:

  • New identity

  • New direction

  • New overflow

Some seasons feel like reruns of old memories, but God is creating new memories.

Overflow Is On Purpose

God causes overflow because He wants you to be a blessing to someone else.

When He brought Israel out of Egypt, He allowed them to plunder the wealth of the Egyptians. They didn’t just come out — they came out with more than they went in with.

Anytime God brings you out, He ensures you have more than what you walked in with.

And while you’re walking through it, He restores you. What you have will feel brand new.

Be Alert. Be Present.

“That was then. This is now. It’s time to pivot.”

Don’t keep going over old history.
Pay attention.
Don’t be asleep at the wheel.

God is doing great things — and it’s happening everywhere, all around us.

Get off the phone. Stop scrolling. Pay attention to what God is doing in your life.

Be present. Be in the moment.

Why? Because you are about to meet your future.

Stop looking back.

1. Let Go of the Old and Receive the New

If you keep looking back, you will never step into what God wants for you right now.

Yes, we thank God for yesterday — but He is a current, right-on-time God.

In Epistle to the Philippians 3:13–14, Paul says to forget what’s behind and press toward the upward call.

Press means run swiftly.

Run swiftly toward the word God gave you.
Run swiftly toward the promise.

Remember: with God, you can do all things.

Stop reliving the Red Sea experience — even though it was one of the greatest miracles in history. God isn’t trying to erase our history. He’s removing the ceiling of what we expect from Him.

Sometimes we miss God because we’re waiting for Him to move the old way.

Tell the Lord:
“However You want to do it, do it. My expectation is that You will do it.”

God never lies. If He said He will do it, He will do it.

Don’t Let the Past Become Your Prison

The past can bless you — but it can also limit you.

Some people are stuck in their old victories.

Quit saying, “We used to.”
Start saying, “We are doing.”
And “We are about to do.”

Move forward in the new.

Remember Lot’s wife. As they were leaving in obedience, she looked back — and immediately turned into salt. Sometimes we leave physically, but we’re still there emotionally.

You can leave a place, but the place hasn’t left you.

Ask God to change your mind and renew your thoughts.

Stop telling God what you think He should be doing. He makes a way out of no way. He allows you to walk through and not be destroyed by what surrounds you.

Don’t look to the left or the right. Keep your eyes on Jesus.

Don’t wait in yesterday’s miracles in today’s season.

Release Your Memory and Embrace God’s Imagination

God’s imagination is greater than your memory.

He doesn’t recycle miracles.

There is a new miracle every day.

When you think you’ve figured out how God moves, He does something that blows your mind. It won’t just amaze you — it will amaze your city, your community, your family.

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard what God has prepared for those who love Him.” 1 Corinthians 2: 9

If you can fully imagine it, it’s probably not big enough.

Epistle to the Ephesians 3:20 (MSG) reminds us that God can do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or imagine.

You have the capacity to tap into the imagination of God because we have the mind of Christ.

“Let this mind be in you that was also in Christ Jesus.”

Meditate on His Word day and night. The Word connects you to His mind and pushes out the junk in yours.

When your mind doesn’t know how to process it — flip the switch by faith.

Stop trying to evaluate and figure everything out in your own understanding. Use the mind of Christ, and watch things work out.

Final Encouragement

God is doing something new.

It’s bursting out.

Be alert.
Be present.
Stop looking back.
Run swiftly into what He has spoken.

This recap only scratches the surface. The weight of the word, the prophetic urgency, the anointing behind it — you need to hear it for yourself.
