Have you ever felt spiritually full on Sunday, only to find yourself drained by Wednesday? That’s because our spiritual growth was never meant to be confined to a single day of the week. Our learning and relationship with God shouldn’t end when the church doors close.

Sunday worship is just the beginning. God desires to meet with us daily, and we need His presence and wisdom in every part of our lives—marriage, parenting, decision-making, work stress, and even our health.

Give God Your First 15

I once heard a simple but powerful tip: “Give God the first 15 minutes of your day—5 minutes in prayer, 5 minutes in the Word, and 5 minutes in worship.”

It might not sound like much, but it’s a start. Starting your day with God shifts your mindset. That intentional time can grow your discipline, deepen your faith, and increase your hunger for more.

  • 5 minutes of prayer: Talk to God about your day, your worries, and your hopes. Prayer aligns your heart with His.

  • 5 minutes in the Word: Read a short passage or a devotional. Ask, “What does this teach me about God?” and “How can I apply it today?”

  • 5 minutes of worship: Listen to a worship song or sing one yourself. Let it stir your soul.

It’s not about checking a box. It’s about building a rhythm of intimacy with your Creator. And once you begin, that 15 minutes often grows into more—because time with God is never wasted.

Don’t Starve Your Spirit

Jesus said, “Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4).

Just like our physical bodies need daily nourishment, so do our spirits. If the only time we’re spiritually fed is on Sundays—or maybe Wednesday nights—we will begin to spiritually starve. Life is hard. Trials come. Temptations show up. We need daily wisdom, strength, and guidance that can only come from abiding in Christ.

Imagine trying to live off one meal a week. You wouldn’t make it very long. The same goes for your spiritual life.

Let’s be a people who learn beyond Sunday.
