The Skill Set of Warrior Part 3

“THREE D!”

2 Samuel 22:44-47; Psalm 115:8 NKJV

Introduction

Let’s remember: every warrior is not a worshipper, but every worshipper is a warrior.  You cannot worship without warring with your flesh, society, or the evil structure itself.  You have to train yourself to worship.

In order to be a faithful and fruitful worshipper, you will need to war at any one of these three (3) levels:  yourself, society or culture, and evil powers themselves. Your flesh will not worship The Lord automatically or instinctively. Society does not inspire you to worship either. Satan encourages you to worship – worship him, Satan!  You don’t worship accidentally or coincidentally.  You worship on purpose, denying yourself, culture, and evil!

Today, we will look at a few verses in David’s victory song, 2 Samuel 22:44-47, to glean some additional skill-set strategies as a worshipper.

Worshippers:

Know The Lord Delivers  v. 44
  1. The Lord delivered David from internal strife, internal wars.
  2. The Lord turned David’s enemies into his willing subjects.
  3. The Lord rescued David from conflict.
  4. When you worship The Lord, you position yourself to be delivered from your internal wars.  Additionally, your enemies are flipped into willing subjects, and you are rescued from both internal and external conflicts.
  5. The Lord is both faithful and sovereign!

Know The Lord Demonstrates v. 45
  1. The Lord worked through David, forcing nations to submit to him. Philippians 2:10, 11
  2. The word “hear” means to recognize or respond in a way that leads to compelled obedience.
  3. The Lord’s victories frightened David’s enemies and drove them into hiding.
  4. When you worship, The Lord’s unstoppable power causes enemies to align with the Kingdom within you.

Know The Lord Disables    v. 46
  1. The Lord’s overwhelming power causes enemies to lose courage, tremble in fear, and surrender.
  2. The Lord’s incalculable power defeats all opposition: cultural, spiritual, and physical.
  3. The Lord’s Kingdom power to move enemies from strongholds to submission and aggression to inactivity.
  4. When you worship, The Lord’s power disables the enemy’s presence and power in your life.

Conclusion v. 47
  1. In Hebrew, the sentence “The Lord lives!”  is pregnant with potency and
  2. “The Lord lives” is sufficient guarantee that our children will live, and the best will be done for them and with them.
  3. “The Lord lives” gives both the body and the spirit life.
  4. We can rejoice because The Lord lives. Since The Lord lives, we shall live in the highest and best sense of the word “lives”!

Lastly, please note that in verses 1-36, David consistently called out to The Lord. Then in verses 38-44, David talks about what he can do through the power of The Lord.

By The Lord’s grace, you can move from crying out to The Lord to “I have; I beat; I destroyed” with The Lord!
