I.      INTRODUCTION

Today’s lesson is about grace: God’s Riches After Christ’s Expense or Getting Restored After Challenging Experiences. The lesson is based on The Prodigal Son Story. Next to The Resurrection Story and The Exodus Story, the Prodigal Son Story is one of the most fascinating passages. This passage is exceptionally fascinating because it is loaded with grace! The Prodigal Son is one of the most powerful examples of God’ grace in the Scriptures.

The purpose of this lesson is threefold: 1) to help you understand the meaning of God’s grace; 2) to recognize how grace operates; and 3) to learn how to receive and extend grace in everyday life.

  4. What do these Scriptures say about us needing to make ourselves worthy before approaching God?

VI.  GRACE IS DIFFICULT TO CELEBRATE WHEN YOU ARE UNGRATEFUL   15:25-32

  1. Grace offends our sense of fairness when we think the recipient should suffer.
  2. It is possible to obey outwardly while struggling inwardly.
  3. Why was the older brother “p-o-ed?”
  4. Have you ever struggled to celebrate the manifestation of grace in some else’s life?

VII.  CONCLUSION

  1. Based on the Scriptures, how do you think The Lord defines grace?
  2. How do you define grace?
  3. How have you experienced grace (in your own life)?
