Matthew 28:8; 1 Corinthians 15:54, 55

Today’s Resurrection message defies the traditional approach to Resurrection message. Today’s messages will use the table game of bid whist to highlight and celebrate the power and purpose of The Lord’s resurrection power. Today’s sermon note format does not follow our traditional format.

Resurrections are not traditional. Your resurrections will not be traditional, neither, including the one(s) you will experience today

1. The Lord God Almighty deals your hand. Exodus 34:6; Daniel 10:11, 12

2. Bid your hand.

3. “What cha coming in?”
   1. Timing is important
   2. Know your setups and combos

4. Remember: You have a partner. Play like it.
   1. In the game of life, The Lord Jesus is your partner. 1 Corinthians 3:9
   2. Thanks to the resurrection power, the Holy Spirit helps you, too. Romans 8:26

5. Hell plays bid whist, too.
   1. Matthew 26:14, 15
   2. John 19:16
   3. Suffering on Friday and silence on Saturday. Psalm 22
   4. Jesus was arrested in the Garden; tried at night by a crooked court; nailed to the cross; and died.

6. Don’t renege!  Reneging is a terrible way to lose a game.
   1. Your mind
   2. Your mission
   3. Your money
   4. The enemy will tempt you to renege on your own mind, mission, and money.

7. When you “play” in resurrection power, you always have another book to make!   Luke 24:6
   1. Don’t show your hand too early.
   2. Don’t leave the table too soon.

8. The Lord has already established the ultimate trump suit!   1 Corinthians 15:54, 55

9. When you are in Jesus Christ, you have the trump suit!   Isaiah 54:17; Romans 8:37, 38

10. The Lord won! You can too.
