“I AM A WORSHIPPER WARRIOR!”
Matthew 4:7-11
Introduction
Today’s message focuses on worship. You have probably heard numerous messages about worship. I humbly submit you have not experienced a message on worship like this one.
Worship is more than singing, praying, or reading the Scriptures. Those activities are some of the expressions of worship. Fundamentally, worship is not what we do. Worship is who we are! (Sounds strange, uh?) The psalmist says, “I will bless The Lord at ALL times. His praise shall CONTINUALLY be in my mouth,” Psalm 34:1. He said that because he understood he WAS a worshipper! He did not just do worship!
Are you a worshipper? Or do you just “do worship”?
The Purpose
Today’s message will zero in on both WHO we worship and HOW we worship who we worship! How we worship The King is a direct reflection of how we view Him and the value we place on His life in our lives.
When this message is over, you will: 1) have a clearer understanding of who we worship; 2) have a more accurate understanding of why we worship who we worship; 3) have a more accurate understanding of how to worship The King; and 4) be ready for a new life of liberating worship!
The Principles
- The enemy has declared war on your worship!
- Your victory is secured, but you must participate.
- You were created to worship! Ten (10) toes down. You decide who or what you worship.
- The angels are wired to worship The Lord exclusively. That is all they can do. You, on the other hand, have a choice. Revelation 4:8
- The Lord created us to worship Him; yet, we don’t have to do so. Why would The Lord do that?
- When you worship The King, your worship is more authentic than the angels’ worship.
- Your worship reflects the value you place on The King, Jesus.
- You become like the object of your worship, so worship intelligently! Psalm 115:8
The Potentate (King Jesus)
- Jesus is completely God and Man at the same time. There is no one else like The God-Man!
- King Jesus is Man so you can relate to Him. Yet, Jesus is God, so He can redeem you!
- The worship you offer the King God-Man, Jesus, witnesses to another person.
- You can draw someone to Jesus or drive someone away from Jesus by how you worship – or not.
The Power (of Worship)
- Both King Jesus and the devil DESIRE our worship. But only Jesus DESERVES our worship.
- When Jesus refused to worship satan, His Father blessed His obedience! Matthew 6:10,11
- The devil left Jesus, and the angels came and ministered to Him. Matthew 6:11
- When you worship The Lord, demonic presence cannot permeate your space, AND The Lord will dispatch His angels to minister to you!
