“ANOINTED AUTONOMY”
Exodus 3:14-17
- “I Am The Door/Gate Of The Sheep.“ John 10:7. Adoni is the means of protection and safety. This I Am addresses the question: Who will? Protect me?
- Autonomy is the capacity to act in accordance with your authentic self and values, rather than being influenced or controlled by external pressures.
- In other words, by The Lord’s grace, autonomy, in this case, means you will not be subjected to or controlled by your emotions (flesh) or evil powers.
- Exodus 3:14 – “I AM WHO I AM.“
a) I will be who I will be. I am who I will be.
b) I will cause to be what I will cause to be.
c) “I will be whom I am /I am who I will be.“
d) “I will be God for you“: not only will The Lord be present in your life but The Lord will be faithfully God! Terrence E. Fretheim
e) The Lord God Almighty will be your God at all times and in all places!
- “I Am The Light Of The World.” John 8:12. Adoni, Jesus guides us thru both dark and well lit times. This question addresses the question: How will I navigate my life?
- “I Am The Bread Of Life.“ John 6:35. Adoni, Jesus, provides spiritual sustenance and significance! This I Am addresses the question: Who am I.
- “I Am The Good Shepherd.” John 10:11, 14. Adoni watches over and cares for His follower. This I Am addresses the question: Who cares enough about me to care for me?
- “I Am The Resurrection And The Life.“ John 11:25. Adoni provides power to live after death both in this life (existentially) and the life to come (eschatologically).
This I Am addresses the question: How will I make it when it doesn’t look like I will?
- “I Am The True Vine.“ John 15:1, 5. Jesus, or Adoni, it is the source of growth.
This I Am addresses the question: Where will I get the strength to keep going when I feel like giving up?
