A Prayer for the End of War

Scriptural Prayer:
Our Father, thank You for protecting families amid war. Thank You for watching over soldiers drawn into battles not of their own making. Thank You for moving the hearts of leaders to seek reconciliation and bring an end to conflict. The name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the godly run to Him and are safe. The Lord our God will cover us with His feathers, and under His wings we will find refuge; His faithfulness will be our shield and rampart. Hallelujah!
Righteous Father, Your Word says, we will hear of wars and rumors of wars but see to it that we are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. So, we declare that we will not be afraid nor anxious. We will continue to pray, fast, believe, and have faith in You, Jehovah Nissi, our protector.
Holy Spirit, is there a specific matter concerning the end of war that I should commit to prayer this week?
Holy Spirit, we pray for peace to come to countries and people groups that are being ravaged and torn apart because of wars. Buildings and homes are being destroyed, children are losing parents, and hunger and famine are spreading throughout the land. We speak shalom over Russia and Ukraine, Israel and Palestine, Iran, and the United States, the civil wars of Sudan, Myanmar, and Syria, conflicts in the Middle East, North Africa, Lebanon, and Yemen. We come against and bind violent extremism in Sahel (Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, Nigeria); Ethiopia; among the Suthi-Israeli; ethnic violence in South Sudan; criminal violence in Haiti; and drug cartels in Mexico. We speak peace over confrontations in Taiwan, the Taliban insurgency in Afghanistan, and tensions in Pakistan. We place all world conflicts in the hands of the Prince of Peace.
Merciful Father, forgive those engaged in warfare for all acts of violence, injustice, murder, and sin. Help them to forgive one another. Give those engaged in warfare a revelation of the love You have for them and how much You have forgiven them so that they will forgive others. Forgive us for letting little things cause war and strife within our homes and families. Please help us to be forgiving and start a chain of forgiveness that will spread to everyone we encounter. Bless more people to be examples of what forgiveness looks like, and may it change the hearts and minds of people who can stop the evil of wars. Help us to be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave us. Holy Spirit, remind us of all those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help us not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
King of the nations, You are our God: we will exalt You and praise Your name, for in perfect faithfulness You have done wonderful things, things planned long ago. In Jesus’ name, amen!
