Prayer Topic #13:
A Prayer for Deliverance from Phobias
Scripture Reading:
Psalm 34:4, Isaiah 41:10
Reflections of the Heart:
“When you explore your fears then you set yourself free.” – Stephen Richards
Scriptural Prayer:
Our Father, thank You for being the dad who never missed a game or recital. Thank You for lifting us up when there was no one else there. Thank You for being ever-present and reminding us that You did not give us a spirit of fear and timidity but of power, love, and self-discipline. For this, we will be forever grateful to You. Hallelujah!
Righteous Father, we declare that no weapon formed against us shall prosper because we belong to You. We will not bow down to any form of phobias because You said, “As surely as You live every knee will bend to You, and every tongue will declare allegiance to You.” Therefore, we are not bound by any idiosyncrasies in this world that cause us to have phobias. With loud voices, we will stand together and proclaim that all strongholds are broken, and victory will reign supreme in our lives over everything.
Holy Spirit, You are our comforter, and we need You to help us overcome fears and phobias of heights, tight spaces, animals/insects, water, the dark, being in public, flying, intimacy, rejection, death and the unknown. We will no longer be afraid because God has come to save us. We will trust in Him and not be afraid. God is our strength and song and has given us victory.
Merciful Father, forgive us when we make our mountains bigger than You. You are more powerful than anything that we could ever encounter. Forgive us for taking our eyes off You and focusing more on things of the world. Help us to forgive others who have wronged us because if we do not forgive, our Father will not forgive us. Holy Spirit, remind those who are experiencing phobias of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help us not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
The Lord is great and greatly to be praised. You are the only true and living God and we reverence You O’ Lord. Praises to the King of kings and Lord of lords forever and ever more. In Jesus’ name, amen!
