And the Lord spoke to Moses saying, “Speak to the Children of Israel, and say to them: The Feasts of the Lord, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, these are My feasts.” Leviticus 23:1
CELEBRATING JESUS IN THE FEASTS
Because of the prophetic season in which we are living, millions of Christians areound the world are realizing that it is proper, good and pleasing to the Lord to celebrate Jesus in the Feasts. There are a number of benefits Christians are experiencing by doing this. Some of these are:
- A better understanding of the Bible
- A rediscovery of the Jewish roots of Christianity
- A fuller comprehension of God’s plan of redemption
- A renewed passion for Jesus
- Greater insights into God’s prophetic seasons
- Clearer and more powerful teachings through visual aids
- A discovery of the biblical Church calendar
- A love for the Jewish people and understanding of the role of Israel in Bible prophecy and current events
- Spiritual growth and bonding among family members
The Fall Feasts consist of three festivals: The Feast of Trumpets, The Day of Atonement, and The Feast of Tabernacles. These feasts are extremely important because they teach us to honor God for who He is and for what He has done for us. In addition, they teach us about God’s plan for humankind and how He powerfully intervenes in human affairs! Revelation 21:3 says “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.” During the Fall Feast season we are expecting God to tabernacle with us.
Notes: Scripture References
Acts 2:40-47 (NKJV)
A Vital Church Grows
40 And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this [a]perverse generation.” 41 Then those who [b]gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. 42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ [c]doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. 43 Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. 44 Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, 45 and [d]sold their possessions and goods, and divided[e] them among all, as anyone had need.
46 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added [f]to the church daily those who were being saved.
Psalm 85:6-8 (NKJV)
6 Will You not revive us again, That Your people may rejoice in You? 7 Show us Your mercy, Lord,
And grant us Your salvation. 8 I will hear what God the Lord will speak, For He will speak peace
To His people and to His saints; But let them not turn back to [a]folly.
