Windsor Village United Methodist Church
On June 19, 1865, the slaves in Galveston were notified that slavery had been abolished and they were free men and women. This was two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation had been signed by President Abraham Lincoln. I want to encourage you to bring your entire family, especially your youth and children to our special Victory Wednesday Juneteenth Celebration tonight (June 19th) beginning at 7PM. The legendary Dr. Thomas Freeman and the TSU Debate Team will join us and trust me--you do not want to miss this evening. I also want to remind all of the women that next weekend is United Methodist Women's Weekend. There will be a special luncheon at 11AM on Saturday, June 29th with guest speaker, Pastor Juanita Rasmus from St. John's Downtown. Tickets are $30 and are available online or stop by the table in the lobby tonight. See you soon.
