A Prayer of Adoration for God and His Word

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 147:7-11, Isaiah 6:1-4

Reflections of the Heart:

“But Jesus answered, ‘It is written, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.”’” Matthew 4:4 Scriptural Prayer:

Wonderful God, our Father, You alone are our inheritance and our cup of blessing. You guard all that is ours. We live in a pleasant land; what a wonderful inheritance! We will bless You because You guide us; even at night our hearts instruct us. We know that You are always with us. We will not be shaken because You are right beside us. Thank You, Father, for Your love and compassion towards us. Thank You for making us Your people. What a joy it is to be one of Your children. You are good and Your faithful love endures forever.

Holy Father, we honor You. You are the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. You existed before time and created everything that exists. We acknowledge that You are the only living God. There are no other gods. Loving Father, You are full of grace and mercy, slow to anger and filled with love that will never fail. You are good to everyone and You shower compassion on all of Your creation. We praise You, Lord, for hearing and answering our cries. You are our strength and shield. We trust You with all of our hearts. You help us and our hearts are filled with joy. We praise You with songs of thanksgiving! You are the King of glory and the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

List three things that you are grateful to God for. Now begin to thank and praise Him for those things:

Holy Spirit, teach us how to adore our Heavenly Father in true holiness. Please touch the hearts of those who do not adore Jesus Christ, and help them to love Him with all their hearts, souls and strength. Holy Spirit, give us a hunger and thirst for Your righteousness so that we will always be filled with Your goodness.

Father God, forgive us for sins of rebellion, disobedience, and selfishness. Forgive us for disrespecting Your Name and not always praying. Lord, please forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say “I forgive name of person(s) .” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help our youth not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.

Lord, all honor and glory belongs to God forever and ever! You are the eternal King, the unseen one who never dies; You alone are God. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
