A Willing Heart
Foundational Scripture Luke 6:12-18
In the Book of Luke we learn that Jesus had many followers, learners or disciples. However, one day He went up in the mountains to pray and after praying all night, at daybreak He called all His followers together and selected only twelve of them to be His inner circle. Have you ever wondered why Jesus chose the specific twelve men that He selected to be His disciples or inner circle? They were just ordinary men with different personalities and backgrounds. But in spite of their character differences, imperfections, defects or flaws, Jesus selected them so that He could personally give them special or intense training or teaching. The twelve stood with Jesus when He gave the Beatitudes. Eventually He sent them out with His authority to preach, teach, cast out demons and heal.
If you had been alive during this time and you were a follower of Jesus, after praying all night, do you think Jesus would have chosen you to be one of His inner circle? What did God know about these twelve men that would result in Him telling Jesus to choose them? God knew the heart of each of the twelve. He knew the good, the bad and the ugly and still He chose them to be taught or trained how to be used by God.
God was well aware if someone’s heart was hard, deceitful, prideful, arrogant, or offended. His desire was for each person’s heart to be willing to be teachable, willing to be trained by Jesus, and willing to demonstrate God’s character in their everyday lifestyles. God planned for each disciple to be willing and obedient to Him through Jesus. God still wants believers today to willingly be led by The Holy Spirit, to seek God with all our hearts, to praise; reverence and honor Him.
When your heart is willing it means it is eager, agreeable, enthusiastic, and passionate about being trained just as the disciples were willing to be trained. KBU offers a vast assortment of classes that are designed to teach believers how to live a lifestyle that honors God! How you choose to respond to this article can show God how willing or unwilling you are to be trained or taught. A heart that is willing to be trained will enroll and complete a course of study, a heart that is unwilling will not. It’s just that simple! Let’s be willing and obedient! KBU is For YOU!
The Bible tells us that a house divided against itself cannot stand. Therefore, we are asking you to pray for peace, healing and unity for our nation. We are asking you to continue to pray predominately in your prayer language (or in tongues) for the next seven days. Each day pray in tongues for the following topics below. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you which one of these topics to pray for the day. Please stick with these two topics for the next seven days. Do not pray outside of these two topics. Let’s use the Kingdom’s language to continue to produce Kingdom results for our nation.
