Project: Pointe 2.3.4.
Project Leader: Kirbyjon H. Caldwell
Pointe 2.3.4. is a comprehensive, 234-acre, mini master-planned community developed by a non-profit organization in collaboration with private, public, and nonprofit partners.  Pointe 2.3.4. offers a multitude of goods, products and services through various educational, recreational, spiritual, cultural and commercial components. The project is valued at more than $200 million upon completion and will create in excess of 2,000 construction jobs and 400 permanent jobs.

Pointe 2.3.4.’s Corinthian Pointe Commercial Park includes quality commercial development to support and serve the community. It currently includes a Walgreen’s, a CVS Pharmacy and McDonald’s restaurant.

This new construction is the home of the Texas Children’s Pediatrics Associates practice.  The Texas Children’s Pediatrics Hospital is internationally recognized as a full-care pediatric hospital located in the Texas Medical Center.  The Pointe 2.3.4. practice will serve children and youth from infancy to 18 years of age, regardless of the parents’ ability to pay.

This detention area constructed for water management and environmental stewardship is the site for the proposed Ponte 2.3.4. amphitheatre intended to provide wholesome entertainment while fostering positive social interaction between families and among generations.

At the KBC Family Life Center, children are given first priority.  This children’s playground, located directly in front of the KBC, was jointly funded by The KBC and the Neighborhood Centers’ Head Start.  The Head Start program offers childhood development, pre-kindergarten services to children in Southwest Houston.

The 191,00-square-foot KBC Family Life Center is located directly across from the Corinthian Pointe residential subdivision which, according to former HUD secretary Mario Cuomo, is the largest residential community developed by a nonprofit developer in the United States.
There are 454 homes in Corinthian Pointe, 80% of which are affordably priced.

The Jean Hines Caldwell Elementary School is a Houston Independent School District school that serves more than 720 children from the Corinthian Pointe residential subdivision located across the street and from the surrounding area.

Adjacent to the school is a new YMCA that offers an array of activities for children, youth and adults including an outdoor pool/aquatic playground for year- round swimming, summer day camps, outdoor adventure and wellness programs.  Healthy after-school alternatives are aimed at helping to reduce teen pregnancy and enhance self-esteem among youths.

Rendering of planned Corinthian Village Independent Living Facility which will be located next to the YMCA. Corinthian Village is a 121-unit facility for individuals and couples 62 years of age and older.

Plans for Pointe 2.3.4. also call for a community park, youth baseball academy, performing arts center, learning and leading institute, prayer institute and  professional building.  It is hoped that the Pointe 2.3.4. project will be replicated in underserved and underdeveloped areas across the country.

In addition to stairs, a thirty-foot slide connects the second floor to the third floor for children of all ages.
