Facilitator: Winifred Mims, a former boutique professional and merchandiser, loves finding great bargains and looking her best.

Cooking Healthy – On the Go CLASS IS FULL
Drive past fast food outlets with glee. Learn how to plan meals that are nutritious to your body and light on your budget. Planning your meals will reduce meal preparation time, ensure you have healthy food on hand, lessen grocery store trips and increase the variety of foods you eat in a week. Join us whether you are a family of one or more. Bon appetit!

Facilitator: Chef Luis Rodriguez, a 16-year culinary arts veteran, worked his way up from sous chef to head chef to restaurant manager for a national conglomerate of restaurants.

Six Weeks to a Better You - for Women CLASS IS FULL
Strength training done right can help you gain confidence and control. In this course, you will learn how to properly strength train to improve your flexibility, strength and endurance. Strength training enhances the quality of life, with benefits that go far beyond visual and physical changes. Women of all ages are welcome.  Note: The purchase of a set of coated light dumb bell weights from 1 lb to 5 lbs, based on your strength and weight are required for this course.   
6 Mondays, 7-8 p.m., June 2nd - July 7th
Facilitator: Myra Jones is a certified aerobics instructor whose experience includes kickboxing, aquatics, cycling, and bootcamp.

Etiquette Essentials CLASS IS FULL
The Bible says, “Let all things be done decently and in order.” (I Corinthians 14:40) Good manners never go out of style. Increase your etiquette quotient with this class and become a role model for your family, friends and co-workers. Learn the guidelines of etiquette, how to navigate table settings, what constitutes fine manners and how to maintain good table conversations. This is the perfect place to receive tried and true answers to your etiquette questions.
4 Tuesdays, 6:30-8 p.m., April 1st- April 29th
Facilitator: Jean Hines Caldwell is a retired homemaking instructor and guidance counselor who believes practicing correct manners helps build self-confidence and enhance personality.

You Can Eat and Lose Weight
Wisdom in Eating is designed for people who want to lose or maintain their weight but don’t want to stop eating. If you lack motivations to eat only salads or certain foods for specified periods of time, this class is for you. Wisdom in Eating is also for those who refused to set themselves up for weight loss failure ever again. Note: The purchase of the Wisdom in Eating book is required for this course.   Books will be available for purchase at the first class session.

Facilitator: Jeanette Allen is the author of Wisdom in Eating.

In Your Defense     CLASS IS FULL
Start building your confidence in your ability to protect yourself with this class. You will learn basic self-defense techniques that will include stances, falling, punches, kicks, submission holds and various attack combinations. Take full responsibility for your personal safety.

Facilitator: Ryan Green has a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Kuk Sool Won and has been actively practicing for more than 8 years

Blending Blended Families
Is it possible to successfully combine two families? Yes! If you are a member of a blended family or planning to be, sign up for this class. With careful planning, open discussion, positive attitudes and mutual respect and patience, blended families can overcome the challenges unique to their family structure. By the end of this class, participants will have a game plan and strategies for their families.
6 Tuesdays, 7-8:30 p.m., April 28th - June 2nd
Facilitator: Gail Collins is a licensed professional and marriage and family counselor as well as a certified Christian counselor.
 
Chess for Beginners
Every chess master was once a beginner! This class is for the beginner who wants to know the pieces and how they move – or who knows the pieces and how they move. . . and not much else. Among other things, you will learn how to set up a chessboard, special moves, powers of specific pieces, vocabulary, rules and sportsmanship. It’s your move!
6 Tuesdays, 7-8:30 p.m., May 6th - June 10th
Facilitator: Ali McHenry has played on teams that won city and state championships and placed 16th nationally in his division.

Teacher Talk: Creative Classroom Game Plans
Add a burst of creativity, innovation and excitement to your classroom. Learn to apply the “fun”-damentals of designing an encouraging and connectional classroom setting. Daily scheduling, seating arrangements, time and material management, and effective discipline are all key elements to a productive learning environment. This class is perfect for brand new teachers or those just needing a refresher.

The Basics of Book Clubbing
Want to share your passion for reading? Mobilize a book club or revive an existing one with this class. Learn to effectively develop or enhance club guidelines, recruit or re-inspire members, select crowd-pleasing books and encourage stimulating book discussions. Creative and innovative techniques to achieve the book club of your dreams will be revealed.

Facilitator: Wanda Milian is a former bookstore executive, creative planner and avid reader.

Beginning Conversational Spanish I      CLASS IS FULL
No hablo espanol? If your ability to speak Spanish ranges from zero to poquito (very little), but you have the desire to grow your knowledge of the language, this class will give you a jump start! In a positive and relaxed atmosphere, you will learn the foundation of the language including the alphabet, numbers (1 to 30), basic grammar and proper pronunciation. Ole!
6 Thursdays, 6:30-7:30 p.m., March 27th - May 8th 
Facilitator: Alba Mosquera teaches Spanish, which is her native language, to elementary students.

Bid Whist for Beginners     CLASS IS FULL
Learn and enjoy the game that black Pullman porters popularized in the late 19th and early 20th centuries while making their runs on U.S. railroads. It is no wonder that much of the lingo, such as going uptown and downtown, that describes Bid Whist game maneuvers is travel language. Bid Whist is as fun now as it was then. Pull up a seat and join in the game. Note: Trash talking is required. If you don’t know how, we will teach you that, too!

Facilitator: Toni Williams has Master's Degree from Bid Whist University, with a minor in Trash Talking.

How to Conduct an Effective Meeting
The steps to a good meeting are ordered by parliamentary procedure! This class will teach you how formal and informal groups can most effectively meet and make sound and fair decisions in a timely manner. Whether you are meeting with your family, scout troop, staff or ministry, you will be able to use what you learn to hold powerful, productive and pleasant meetings.
3 Thursdays, 7-8:30 p.m., June 12-June 26
Facilitator: Mable Scott Austin is a professional, certified, and experienced consultant specializing in training and technical assistance.

The ABC’s of Auto Care
Take care of your car and it will take care of you. In this class, you will learn basic auto maintenance – what you can do yourself and what is better left to the repair shop to do. Among the topics to be covered are changing your brake pads, checking and replacing fluid levels, belts and hoses, maintaining and changing your tire. Get tips on how to
keep your car looking good long after you first bring it home.

10 Things Children Wish Their Parents Knew: A Parenting Workshop
The role of parenting is a lifetime blessing, but the window of opportunity for training and teaching your children is short. Come learn and maximize your ability to have good success in your parenting, when the years really count.

Crochet & Fellowship    CLASS IS FULL
Learn to crochet in a beginner-friendly environment. This is a fun craft that is perfect for fellowship. Join us as we relax, share and enjoy crocheting together. You are guaranteed to relieve stress and experience satisfaction in finishing your first project. Note: The purchase of a size H or G crochet needle, a plastic yarn needle and a medium-worsted weight yarn are required for this class.

Facilitator: Deanna Minor is a former Leisure Learning crochet instructor who learned to crochet as a young girl.

Managing Yourself and Leading Others
What are the secrets of successful leadership and management? This class will reveal them to you. Learn how to increase your effectiveness in leading others while becoming all that you are destined to be.

Facilitator: Christlyn Calloway has experience in executive leadership positions and has been leading employees corporately for the past 20 years.
 
50 Strategies to Save Your Marriage
No matter how hard your marriage may be, it can be saved! Your situation is not as unique as you think. Many married couples face the same dilemmas. This class will teach powerful and proven strategies that you can implement immediately to move your marriage in the direction that God wants it to move.   
5 Saturdays, 10-11:30 a.m., May 17th - June 14th
Facilitator: Clyde Temple, III is the author of “Having God’s Best Marriage.”

From Couch Potato to Marathoner
Walk, run and learn in this four-week introductory training session. Participants will accelerate to walking or running and progress from one mile to three miles. Learn everything you need to know about marathons, how to adequately prepare for one, and what it will take to eventually cross the finish line.

Facilitators: Jorge and Pat Quiones, a husband and wife team, are marathon enthusiasts who combined, have completed a total of 19 marathons.
 
Design 101: Interior Design for Non-Designers CLASS IS FULL
Release your inner designer! Be inspired and then be empowered with creative, innovative design techniques to turn your house (or apartment) into a home – room by room. With your budget, style and schedule in mind, gain tips and advice on how to fit your space to your lifestyle and everyday use. Design elements such as color, texture, pattern and proportion for your floors, walls, furniture and accessories will be discussed.

Facilitator: Thomasine Johnson is a principal designer for a professional residential and commercial design firm.

Successful Dinner Party Planning
Ding, dong. The first guest has arrived and you are so ready. That is because you signed up for this class and found out what it took to throw a successful dinner party. You put together a plan that helped you decide on the guest list, timing, invitation, menu, table setting, shopping list, ambiance and more. Everything is ready and the rest is a breeze. Have fun!
